MOFFAT TOWNHOUSE
BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN, NY
The most magical moment of this townhouse renovation was early on, when dozens of layers of paint were stripped from the three original fireplace mantels, and a gorgeous green and pink slate was uncovered. Elegant and casual, this stone became the inspiration for the jewel-tone color palette throughout: deep greens, dusty pinks, and cool grays were woven through each room.
The original door casings and Victorian-era door hardware all featured plant motifs, so natural plant elements were incorporated into the space, especially in the vibrant wallpaper in the powder room. The furnishings were all chosen to complement the architecture of the home, and implemented rich colors and textures, and simple forms.
