AMITY RESIDENCE
Cobble Hill, BROOKLYN, NY
Amity Residence was designed for a couple that travels frequently and needed a calm space to call home. They love to entertain, and the outdoor terrace was one of the main features of the renovation. The apartment is on the top floor of a brownstone, and a number of skylights were added to brighten the space.
The finishes in the apartment were inspired by mid-century material palettes, with warm wood, creamy white walls, and earth tones. The couple have an extensive collection of souvenirs from traveling, so open display shelving was featured in the design.
The custom kitchen cabinetry is walnut with a natural oil finish, which is a nice counterpoint to the warm Douglas-fir flooring. The stone countertops are a variety of marble called Fior Di Bosco, which has warm veins throughout.
